Success stories Harriet and Steve

With a wedding planned for November, this is Harriet and Steve's story...

Harriet loved going out with her friends but, like so many people, found that she didn't meet anyone new. When she saw what a packed calendar her mum had suddenly developed after joining the dating service, she decided to join up too. When your mum's dating more guys than you, you KNOW it's time to do something about it!

Although Harriet went on several dates, it wasn't until she met Steve that she realised she'd found someone she really clicked with. Steve had joined the dating service after he noticed an advert while trying to sell his car online.

After messaging each other for a week, Harriet and Steve exchanged phone numbers and decided to meet up.

"He was everything I wanted, and good-looking too!" Harriet recalls, " We soon discovered that we had similar family backgrounds as well as the same aspirations."

The first date was to the local pub, but as the hours flew by, Harriet decided to ask Steve if he fancied a bite to eat, so they headed to a restaurant. While Harriet tucked into her meal, Steve barely touched his. Why? Harriet later discovered that, because he thought they were just going for a drink, Steve had already eaten but didn't want to say anything or turn down the chance to spend longer with her. This was looking good already!

The relationship quickly blossomed, and it soon struck them both that they wanted to spend their lives together. "We have been very lucky, everything we have done has just felt right," Harriet explains.

The icing on the cake came when, after two and a half year's together, Steve popped the question in January 2007. "We plan to marry in November and I'm sure a couple of kids will follow soon after," smiles Harriet, "we've even set up a business together running our own private detective agency. The future certainly looks exciting.

Since I found Steve, a couple of my single work colleagues have started to use internet dating too; I think it would be great if they can find the same happiness we've found." Stock up on your hats now!

But, when he was posted even further away from her hometown, Sarah had to take drastic action...

After chatting on the site and deciding they wanted to talk in person, Sarah and James exchanged telephone numbers. Their first call lasted 7 hours and they found that they had a lot in common and stacks to talk about!

Just before they moved, James suggested having a drink in the pub in which they had their very first date. Sarah agreed that it would be a nice idea and had no idea when they got there that James was about to get down on one knee and pop the question. When he did, Sarah didn't hesitate to say 'yes'.

The couple had a great engagement party before leaving to live in Wiltshire - James's posting changed again. They have since been away to Jamaica and bought their first home. Both are now very busy planning for their wedding and are looking forward to starting a family very soon.
